The Stanback Scholarship Program

cap.gif (1167 bytes)The Stanback Scholarship Program, established in 2000, at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina, is designed to assist academically talented African American students who are members of the Stanback Reunion Family.

A committee composed of faculty at Livingstone College will select the scholarship recipients. A committee of members of the Stanback family must approve all applicants for the scholarship. Scholarships will vary depending on availability of funds and financial need of the recipients selected. Awards will be made one year at a time, but it is the intention to enable recipients to complete the four-year program.

CRITERIA

Applicants for the Stanback Scholarship Program must meet the below listed academic, leadership, and civic requirements.

Academic Requirements

Prior to applying, all applicants must have:

Maintained an overall cumulative average of 3.0 or above
Exemplified excellent oral and writing skills

Civic Requirements

All applicants must meet the civic requirements that include:

Involvement in community-related activities
Outstanding and/or extraordinary contributions to their school and/or the community
Demonstration of good character

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please use the following outline as a checklist to assist you in completing your application. You do not need to return this instruction sheet.

1. Application should be printed or typed.

2. Enclose the following items when submitting your completed application:

A recent photo
A copy of your high school transcript
A copy of your SAT/ACT scores
A biographical summary

3. Print out Pages 1-3 below and submit (Address to be determined)

4. Deadline: (to be determined)
